The first part of the ActionScript 3.0 base tutorial will introduce you to the very basics of AS3 Flash game development, using Flash CS3 or CS4.

Because it goes into great detail on getting started, the game itself is extremely simple. Click the image below to try it out:

However, by the end of the full 12-part tutorial, this gets fleshed out a lot more, with keyboard controls, sounds, a preloader, multiple levels, and a high score:
